Homemade Burgers with Merlot

The warmer weather calls for fully-loaded homemade burgers cooked on the braai, served with a summer salad, and paired perfectly with a glass of Jason’s Hill Merlot. This easy-to-make recipe lets you customize your burger with your favorite toppings.
Ingredients:
1kg beef mince
1 egg
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 red onion
1 tomato
15g parsley
15g mint
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
10 burger rolls
Toppings of your choice (e.g., avocado, lettuce, red onion, tomato)
Method:
In a medium-sized bowl, place the mince.
In a food processor, blend the egg, onion, tomato, and herbs until smooth.
Add the blended mixture to the mince along with bread crumbs, salt, and pepper.
Mix thoroughly by hand until well combined.
Cover the bowl with cling wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
Shape the mixture into 100g patties (adjust size as desired).
Cook the patties on the braai or in a pan over medium heat.
Lightly toast the burger buns until slightly crispy.
Assemble your burgers with your choice of toppings.
